Snack gratin with bananas
Ingredients
  • 100 g fine wheat grits (can be replaced with semolina)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 150 g grated cheese
  • 2 platano bananas (green or red skinned and unsweetened starchy flesh)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Grease for greasing the mold
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Heat the oven up to 180°C.
  • Peel the bananas, cut in half and cut the halves into slices.
  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan and fry bananas for 5 minutes on each side. Place the fried bananas on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  • Prepare the mass for pouring the gratin. Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan, add the grains and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the porridge to cool completely at room temperature.
  • Divide the eggs into yolks and whites. Whip the whites into a strong foam. Whisk the yolks with a fork with grated cheese and add to the cooled porridge. Salt and pepper to taste, mix well. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
  • Lubricate the baking dish with fat and put the fried bananas into it. Pour the bananas with the prepared mass and bake the gratin for 20 minutes.
  • Serve the dish hot. Slightly pepper before serving.
