Ingredients
  • 2 carcasses of horse mackerel
  • 700 grams of canned tomatoes
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 large head of onion
  • 1 large carrot
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and spices to taste
Horse mackerel soup is prepared quite simply and does not require large cash costs. At the same time, the soup turns out to be very fragrant, tasty and nutritious. Bulgarian spices and herbs thyme, celery, as well as peppercorns and bay leaves will give a special piquancy to the soup.

Prepare the fish, defrost and rinse thoroughly under running water, remove the fins, head and entrails. Then put it in a saucepan with salted water and send it to cook on the stove. It is recommended to put a sprig of parsley in a saucepan with fish. Boil the fish for 10 minutes, then remove it from the broth and leave to cool.

Prepare onions and carrots, chop them finely enough and send them to fry in a frying pan heated with sunflower oil. Roast the vegetables for about 10 minutes until they are soft. Next, send them canned tomatoes along with juice. It is necessary to simmer everything for 15 minutes over low heat, covering the pan with a lid.

We separate the boiled fish from the bones and tear into small pieces. In the resulting fish broth we send the prepared fish, stewed vegetables and finely diced potatoes. Cook the soup on low heat for about 30 minutes. Before turning off, add finely chopped garlic and spices to the pan. Fragrant horse mackerel soup is ready.
