Lean baklava recipe
Ingredients
  • 300 grams of flour
  • 200 ml water for the dough and 100 ml for the syrup
  • Three tablespoons of olive oil
  • One teaspoon dry yeast
  • One tablespoon of sugar for the dough
  • 200 grams of sugar for syrup
  • Five tablespoons of sugar for the filling
  • One pinch of salt
  • 600 grams walnuts for stuffing
  • 1.5 tablespoons cinnamon for topping
  • One teaspoon vanilla sugar for topping
  • 100 grams of honey for syrup
  • Juice and zest of one lemon
A slightly unusual recipe for our usual dessert.

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and pour into the flour, add the other ingredients for the dough and knead the dough. Then divide the dough into six to eight balls and leave for twenty minutes.

Grind nuts with a blender and mix with cinnamon and sugar.

Take a rectangular shape with sides, roll out the dough thinly, grease with vegetable oil, and sprinkle with nuts on top, do the same with the remaining balls.

Also grease the surface with vegetable oil, cut into portions, decorate with halves of nuts and put in the oven for twenty-five minutes, preheated to 180C.

Remove the zest from the lemon, squeeze out the juice, add sugar, water, honey, bring to a boil and boil for three minutes.

Then pour half of the syrup over the half cooked baklava, then continue baking for fifteen minutes. After that, pour the rest of the syrup and bake for another fifteen minutes, then cool, cut into portions and invite everyone to drink tea.
