Onion soup
Soups
- 800 gr. white onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 150 ml table wine
- 150 gr. cheese (in our case, Swiss Gruyere cheese was used)
- 100 gr. wheat bread
- 70 gr. butter
- 30 gr. wheat flour
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 liter chicken broth
onion soup recipe
Peel and cut the onion into thin half rings.
We take a saucepan, it is better that it be with a thick bottom, and melt the butter in it.
Put the chopped onion in a saucepan and simmer it for 20-25 minutes over low heat, stirring all the time.
Now add flour and chopped garlic to the pan, mix everything well and pour in the table wine.
Cook for 5 minutes and pour in the broth, bring the soup to a boil and pour in the grated cheese (if there is no broth, you can pour in ordinary water).
Stir the soup so that the cheese is completely dissolved, at this stage you can add a little salt.
Pour the finished onion soup into pots, put 1 piece of pre-fried baguette in each of them, sprinkle everything with cheese and send the oven. The oven must be preheated to 200 degrees, it should be baked until the cheese is melted, it took us about 5 minutes.
Serve onion soup with cheese sticks.
