Ingredients
  • 4 onion heads
  • 250 gr. butter
  •  1 loaf
  • 150 gr. hard cheese
  • 1 liter of water
  • Salt, pepper and other spices - to taste
Onion soup in France is equated to borscht in Ukraine. We offer you a recipe for classic French onion soup. This soup is perfect to diversify your daily diet.

Take a saucepan and melt butter in it.

Peel the onion and cut it into half rings, then add to the pan to the melted butter. Mix everything and close the lid, continue cooking over low heat.

As soon as the onion becomes transparent, add 1 liter of boiling water, add the necessary spices and bay leaf. Stir the soup and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Onion soup is best served with croutons and garnished with fresh herbs. Cut the loaf into slices and fry them in a dry frying pan. Pass the cheese through a coarse grater and sprinkle it over the toasted croutons.

Divide the onion soup among bowls, sprinkle with a little cheese and top with grated cheese croutons.

Place the bowl in the microwave to melt the cheese, then serve immediately.
