Ingredients
  • 300 grams of crackers, if not, then take 500 grams of bread
  • 15 grams fresh yeast
  • 300 grams of sugar
  • 5 liters of hot water
Bread kvass is our national soft drink. In my opinion, this is the best drink that will help quench your thirst in the hot summer season.

If in your case bread was taken, and not crackers, then it must first be dried. To do this, cut the bread into arbitrary parts and send it to the oven, fry the bread until golden brown. If you want your kvass to be a little bitter, then fry the bread harder.

Transfer the fried bread to a saucepan, and pour half of boiling water over it so that it is completely hidden. Close the pot with a lid and wait until it cools completely.

When the water has cooled completely, take a colander lined with gauze and strain the crackers through it. Set the liquid aside for now, and pour the bread with the remaining boiling water and leave to infuse for 1 hour.

Now we filter the crackers again and drain the liquids into 1 pan or jar. Add 15 grams of yeast and 300 grams of sugar, mix everything well and let the kvass come out for 8 hours.
