Calla
Ingredients
  • 1.5 kg oily fish
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1-2 bulbs
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 pickles
  • 1 st. cucumber pickle
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 5-7 black peppercorns
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp decoys
  • onion greens
  • Garlic
  • Parsley
  • Dill
  • Salt
Old Russian fish soup, so to speak, the progenitor of the current fish soup and pickle.

Kalya recipe

Place diced potatoes in boiling water. After 5-7 min. add finely chopped onion and grated carrots. Let simmer for a few minutes.

Bring the brine to a boil, add to the vegetable broth.

Cut pickled cucumbers into strips, add to the pot with soup.

Peeled fish (without scales, intestines and gills) cut into large pieces, lowered into the soup. Add bay leaves, pepper, semolina, salt and cook for 15 minutes.

We put half of the greens in Kalya, let it boil. Squeeze the lemon juice into the kalya already removed from the fire, let it brew. Sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs before serving.
