Pea porridge
Porridge
- 300 gr. dried peas
- 100 gr. onion
- 1 PC. orange sweet pepper
- 250 ml cream with a fat content of 20-22%
- 100 gr. carrots
Recipe for pea porridge
Soak the peas in warm water for a few hours, ideally overnight is best.
Drain the water from the peas and wash them well. Now pour 600 ml of water and put the pan on the fire.
Bring the liquid to a boil and reduce the heat slightly, continue cooking for 40 minutes over low heat.
During cooking, more than half of the water should evaporate, and the peas should boil well. If in your case there is a lot of water left, then you can drain the excess.
Now, using a blender, grind the peas, add cream to it and mix. We put the pan back on the fire and wait until it boils, reduce the heat again, add spices and salt to taste and cook for another 10 minutes.
We clean the carrots, onions and peppers. We pass the onion and carrot through a grater, and cut the pepper into small cubes. Fry vegetables in olive oil.
