Dessert broth from dried fruits

Dessert broth from dried fruits
Ingredients
  • 200 g pitted prunes
  • 200 g dried apricots
  • 100 g light raisins
  • 100 g dark raisins
  • 100 g dried figs
  • 200 g dried pears
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 carnations
  • 500 g fresh apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 oranges
  • Sweet red wine (cahors) for serving
For a delicious syrup, soak dried fruits in water overnight, then boil them with sugar. Strain to separate the fruits: they will be tasteless, giving everything to the syrup.

Dried fruit dessert recipe

1

1. Fill a saucepan (5 l) 2/3 with water. Bring to a boil, add all dried fruits (large cut). Crush the cinnamon with a knife into smaller fragments and add to the broth along with the cloves.

2

2. Let the dried fruits boil, but for now, peel the apples from the seeds and cut into slices. Also cut the oranges. When dried fruits boil for 2-3 minutes, throw fruit slices into them, squeeze lemon juice. Throw the rest of the pulp, along with the peel, into the pan.

3

3. Wait until the apples rise to the surface, and immediately remove the mixture from the heat. Cover with a lid and leave to infuse overnight.

4. Serve the broth chilled, and for the festive table, dilute it with half the sweet red wine (cahors).
